Whats in your baby soap? We learned the hard way with our first child that ingredients really matter. While something like baby soap seems simple enough, it can be scary to learn what is in them! Baby rashes and acne don’t need to be a common issue. You can use EWG’s Skin Deep database to check your current products’ toxicity, but don’t stress too much – making your own foaming soap is super easy & inexpensive!
This recipe is safe for any age and can be customized according to which oils you prefer to use. I like to change it up, but my favorite calming blend for babies OR big kids is always Lavender + Balance.
For a 50 ml Pump Bottle:
- 2 Tbsp. Dr. Bronner’s Baby Unscented Castile Soap
- 1 tsp Fractionated Coconut Oil
- 4 drops dōTERRA Lavender
- 4 drops dōTERRA Balance
- Water
For a 250ml Pump Bottle:
- 1/2 C Dr. Bronner’s Baby Unscented Castile Soap
- 2 Tbsp. Fractionated Coconut Oil
- 20 drops dōTERRA Lavender
- 20 drops dōTERRA Balance
- Water
I love to recycle bottles for DIY’s! The one you see in the picture above is actually the HD Clear Foaming Face Wash bottle that I cleaned out, but you can find similar pump bottles and castile soap over in my Favorite Things. New to essential oils? Learn and shop here.
I printed Avery labels for mine, but you can be as creative (or not) as you want! If you have any questions about ingredients or usage, please let me know and I’m happy to help. Happy DIYing!
